public interface KernelMetadataProvider

The Kernel metadata is loaded on demand by a FeatureOptimizer by requesting InputStream chunks using openInputStream(int) method.
Metadata chunks are loaded sequentially, so implementations can assume that at most one InputStream is open at a time.

Method Detail

openInputStream

InputStream openInputStream(int offset)
                     throws IOException

Opens an InputStream starting at the given metadata offset (0 based). Caller is responsible for closing the InputStream before calling this method again.

Parameters:

offset - the metadata offset where the InputStream starts.

Returns:

an opened InputStream ready to read at the given metadata offset.

Throws:

IOException - if an IO error occurs when reading from Kernel metadata.
